英語の発音がとても良かったので、聞き取りやすすかったです。また、間違いがあった時は、丁寧な模範解答を教えてくださってすごく分かりやすかったです。

English translation.
I had a speaking practice with Kartika to prepare for the second stage of Eiken (English Proficiency Test) Level 2. Her English pronunciation was very good, so it was easy to understand. Also, when I made a mistake, she gave me detailed example of answers, so I could understand well.

We love poems

Ika adalah sahabat kecilku dari bangku SMP dan terjaga sampai sekarang. Berjuta kenangan dan pengalaman yg unik, baik dan indah telah kualami bersama Ika. Salah satu kenangan yg berkesan, kami pernah berduet membaca puisi, walau hanya di panggung acara sekolah. Puisi itu hasil karya kami berdua, diedit berdua, lalu berlatih membacanya berdua sambil pilih-pilih instrumen musik yg sesuai dan finalnya kami baca berduet di panggung. Bersahut-sahutan kami membaca puisi dengan intonasi nada yg saling mengisi dan hasilnya istimewa.
Bersahabat bersama Ika bagai jalinan nuansa yg indah, sebagaimana keindahan yg tercipta dalam untaian kata-kata dalam puisi. Salam kangen dr Lawang, Nina.

English translation
I call her Ika. She’s been my best friend since junior high school, and we’ve maintained our friendship up to today. I have millions of nice memory with her; one of the most memorable ones is when we wrote our poems together and read them on the school stages. Before performing, we practiced together while choosing the in-tune musical instrument. We duetted reading our poems in a rhythmic intonation; I felt our togetherness in the shows was so special. Our companionship is so beautiful, like the beauty of words in our poems. I always miss her.

We collaborated with Dr. Kartika

We collaborated with Dr. Kartika for a research about Flood Prediction using Machine Learning. We are really, really grateful to Dr. Kartika for her insight about precipitation, flood, climate observation, and the Math calculation in it. She generously shared her broad knowledge and experiences.
Our paper was accepted and presented in the IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) 2021, in Brussels, Belgium. The paper will be published in the conference’s proceeding. Dr. Kartika went extra miles to review the paper, and even to train my student before the online presentation.
Even after we submitted the revision of our paper, Dr. Kartika still tirelessly give us input and revision to our method, so that in the presentation, we can present the best of our result.

Kartika is honest and genuine soul. She has a very big heart and very beautiful smile. She is also a natural authentic healer. I am so lucky can call her my friend.

Her advice is always objective and factual

Saya memanggilnya Ika. Di balik penampilannya yang masih seperti anak anak, terdapat suatu wisdom yang begitu dewasa, penuh tanggung jawab, mandiri dan berpikir sistimatik.
Kami sering saling membantu. Saya ikut mendukung Ika melewati kesulitan dalam menjalani hubungan dengan seseorang di masa lalu. Begitu juga sebaliknya, sekitar tahun 2000-an adalah masa sulit dalam hidup saya, dimana kegelisahan dan rasa takut sering datang. Ika membantu mendinginkan hati saya. Saran dan tanggapannya selalu objektif dan faktual, selalu positive thinking. Hal lain yang juga special dari Ika, dia sangat perhatian dengan keluarganya, termasuk anak-anak saya. The best.
Ika orang yang kuat. Ketangguhannya makin tampak saat harus berjuang dengan sakitnya. Suatu kondisi yang cukup serius dan pastinya menyakitkan, tapi Ika tetap tabah. Ika selalu enjoy dan tetap berprestasi. Rasa bangga juga saya tujukan ke Ika atas prestasinya di akademik. Berbagai institusi pendidikan di luar negeri sudah jadi langganannya.

I call her Ika. Behind her childish performance, she’s wise, independent, mature in thinking, and systematic.
We often help each other. I supported her in getting through her past relationship situation. She was also the one who helped soothe me during my hard time in the 2000s where anxiety and fears often came in my life. Her advice and responses are always objective and factual, always positive thinking. Another special about her, she cares about her family, including my kids. She’s the best for us.
She’s a tough person. Her toughness was seen during her struggle with her illness, a serious condition that must have been painful, but she kept strong. She always enjoys her life and continues to excel. I’m also proud of her academic achievements. She had broad experiences in educational institutions overseas.
Even though we’re not siblings, we’re like brother and sister. I’m proud to be her brother.
